Cuddyer missed much of the second half of 2012 with an oblique injury. This season, he was on the DL in May with neck problems. NL Home Run Derby captain David Wright selected Cuddyer, a childhood friend, for the team.

Ortiz' 2013 first-half numbers are similar to his 2012 first half, when he hit .312 with 22 HR and 57 RBI. His 1.008 OPS is actually down from 2012's 1.026, but is third-best in MLB behind only Miguel Cabrera and Chris Davis. Ortiz was named to the All-Star team for the ninth time in ten seasons.
Carlos Beltran, St. Louis Cardinals

After hitting .269 with 32 HR and 97 RBI in his first season in St. Louis in 2012, Beltran is on pace for an even better season, hitting .309 with 19 HR and 53 RBI.
